Vishal Bharadwaj Haider music review

‘Aaj Ke Naam’ is sung by Rekha Bhardwaj, which is not only beautifully rendered but also elegantly orchestrated. It is mostly languorous but is not something that will mark a history.

‘Gulon Mein Rang Bhare’ which is sung by none other than Arijit Singh who has lend his voice for many ovies like Singham retuens, creature 3D and hate story 2 making their songs a romance magic portion, yet in this he fails to make this song that great success like his previous. This song starts well but ends in a disappointing manner.

‘Do Jahaan’ which is sung by Suresh Wadkar-Shraddha Kapoor makes a mark. This song is soothing and pleases one’s mind and ears. Suresh Wadkar has effortlessly made this song a good number and also Shraddha Kapoor’s voice paired with the legendary singer complimented the song beautifully.

Once again ‘Kabhi To’ sung by Arjit Sing is a well composed track that is not too harsh not too soft to the listener’s ear. You can relax and listen to this number and enjoy it due to the singer’s listener-friendly voice.

Jhelum is self rendered composition of the director Vishal Bhardwaj. Vishal gets behind the studio and mike for this lovely number and his soothing soft vocals are perfectly and magically in tune with the melody that will embrace you giving a mystical yet real effect to the number.

‘Bismil‘ and its shorter version ‘Ek Aur Bismil’ follow the narrative format which was earlier seen in song classics which narrated complete stories. But due to its use of pure and heavy Urdu phonetics, it simply fails to communicate to the basic audience yet it feels good to the ears. The Punjabi pop singer Sukhwinder Singh puts some energy into this track by lending his voice. This song has an Arabic flavor to it.

Aaj Ke Naam song is the final track of this album and has Rekha Bhardwaj to deliver this ghazal-in her beautiful voice. The track has minimum instrumentation with just using a tabla and a violin in the background making Rekha’s voice dominate the entire track.

Haider is an upcoming Indian drama film written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj and directed by director Vishal Bhardwaj. The film casts Tabu ,Shraddha Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon and Shahid Kapoor. Haider is the third flim installment of Bhardwaj’s remake of Shakespeare trilogy after Maqbool ( 2003) and Omkara ( 2006). The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 2 October 2014. The movie has taken aback and impressed the audience with its ravishing trailer and Shahid Kapoor’s extra ordinary new look. This film offered everything bloody revenge, magical love to wild rebel. The buzz about Shahid and Shraddha’s sizzling hot lip lock scene is doing the rounds. Actress Tabu who will be seen after a long time from her previous film Chinikum will now play the character of a heavily strong headed and brave woman and as Shahid Kapoor’s step mother. A major part of the film was shooted in the province of Srinagar in Kashmir. Director Bhardwaj assured the J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah that the film would have nothing at all to harm or disturb the local sensibilities of the place and the political aspirations of the province.

Vishal Bhardwaj mastered piece film “Maqbool”, “Omkara” & “Haider” will be converted into books

After Finding Fanny, Vishal Bhardwaj’s master piece film Maqbool, Omkara and Haider will be converted into books very soon. Haider is an upcoming Indian drama film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, and written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and is set in Kashmir. The film stars Tabu, Shahid Kapoor as the protagonist,Shraddha Kapoor and Kay Kay Menon. Haider is the third installment of Bhardwaj’s Shakespeare trilogy after Maqbool (2003) and Omkara (2006). The film is scheduled for release on 2 October 2014. The trailer features the entire cast and Shahid Kapoor is seen in an all new avatar where he plays an aggressive, pychopathic man and how he kills people and his chemistry with lady love Shraddha Kapoor. The trailer has crossed 42 lakh views on youtube.

 

Tabbu is seen on screen after a long time and her contribution to the movie is worth watching. After Omkara and Maqbool both of which were award winning movies Vishal has come up with Hiader. Vishal’s style of movies are different than the others his movies are more violent in nature and depict the real world. The plot of the film is loosely based on that of Macbeth with regard to events and characterisation. The film did not perform remarkably at the box office, but won director Vishal Bhardwaj international acclaim. Apart from directing it, he had also composed the background score and songs for the film. Bhardwaj then moved on to adapting William Shakespeare’s Othello in his 2006 film Omkara which won him commercial as well as critical success. The critical success of “Omkara” was responsible for winning Francis Ford Coppola’s attention. The movie Omkara was about a political enforcer who commits crimes on behalf of local politicians. The movie is all about Love, crime, murder, adultery etc. the movie won appraisal from the international audience. Shradda also shares her experience of shooting for the movie and stated that the movie was a life changing experience. And shahid who is a party freak and has recently renovated his home so that he can has a pub like place in his house has also is seen sporting a new look the clean military cut angry young man look. The good news of all this is that the movie will hit the screens on 2nd October.

 

The censor board of India has created a lot of hullabaloo amongst the film makers by doing what they do best, Chopping off scenes that are adult according to them. The newest bakra in Town was the movie Haider. After 41 cuts the movie is giving a U/A certificate. With the rising use of sexual content and well as bold dialogues it has become very difficult for movies to pass the censor board. Haider has also been one of the lucky ones. Scenes of dead bodies and blood covered bodies , wire being inserted inside a naked man, a shot of a bloody dead body, all this might sound like a footage of a war. Such scenes have been deleted from Vishal Bharadwaj’s movie Haider. A few illogical scenes have also been deleted like the image of a bare back during a song sequel and also where Shahid is crying on someone’s funeral near the flames. I wonder what is left of the movie to present to the audience.

Akshay Kumar’s Shaukeen title changed to The Shaukeens

The title is changed from Shaukeen to The Shaukeens as Murad thinks it sounds more cooler and adds a certain zing to the movie. Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon starrer Shaukeen is all set to release on November 7. This movie is the remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 ‘Shaukeen’ which is now directed by Abhishek Sharma. The film revolves around three lusty men and veteran actors like Anuphem Kher, Annu Kapoor and Paresh Rawal feature in this remake. The actors used social networking site twitter to share their happiness with their fans “Happy to announce the release date of #The Shaukeens. It is 7th Nov. Be ready for this fantasy ride. Jai Ho.:) @HaydonLisa @annukapoor_,” Anupam tweeted on Wednesday.

Lisa Haydon too expressed her excitement on Twitter and tweeted, “Got the most FANTASTIC phone call! #The Shaukeens releases 7thNovember. Can’t wait2share this film w/all of u cuz we had such fun making it!” Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn’s  have been rivals for a long time now.This time too these two stars are going to clash at the box office through their Action Jackson and Shaukeen. Hrithik Roshan became the first actor to do a flyboarding stunt in bollywood

Bang Bang is an action, romance thriller film by Siddharth Raj Anand. The film casts Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. This film is being produced by Fox Star Studios and it is an official remake of the Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz film. It is the first ever Bollywood movie to be co-produced and shot in Abu Dhabi. Unique and impressive water action scenes were filmed in Thailand and continued to be shot in Greece.  In Phuket, the lead actor Hrithik Roshan performed a dangerous stunt where he had to step on a jet and shoot up to 30 feet high in the sky and then dive down deep into the water. Hrithik Roshan was injured badly during this scene and had to undergo a Brain.

The cast includes  Hritik Roshan, Katrina Kaif,  Danny Denzongpa as Omar, Jaaved Jaffrey as Hamid Gul, Anteo Quintavalle as Henchman, Ron Smoorenburg as Henchman, Arsha Aghdasi as Goon, Préity Üupala as Dancer, Amir Badri as Goon, Parth Akerkar as Robert, and Pawan Malhotra as Zorawar.

The Shaukeens is the remake of the 1982 film Shaukeen

The film Shaukeens is an upcoming Hindi Bollywood comedy drama film directed by director Abhishek Sharma. The film stars the trio of Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Piyush Mishra in lead roles along with the gorgeous diva Lisa Haydon and the action king Akshay Kumar who makes every movie a hit. This comedy project will be an official remake of the film Shaukeen which was directed by Basu Chatterjee in 1982, which featured Ashok Kumar, A. K. Hangal, Utpal Dutt, Rati Agnihotri and the disco dancer Mithun Chakraborty. This twisted remake is scheduled to hit the theatres on 21 November 2014. More than 60 per cent of this remake project film was shot in Mauritius.

The production of this film commenced in April 2014. Actor Akshay Kumar posted a picture of the movie’s first day of filming. The cast were shooting indoors scene in a hotel and will now soon fly to Mauritius for the further shooting schedule in May, then followed by a shooting schedule in Delhi. The musical artist and the well known rapper Honey Singh who is currently trending among the youth has been signed up for a song in this film. Honey Singh has previosly repeatedly collaborated with actor Akshay Kumar in the past and again the actor has requested the singer to compose three songs for his upcoming movie Shaukeen and the devishly charming rapper has agreed. Initially, the dazzling diva who is the heartthrob of many Nargis Fakhri was signed for this film project but then she chose to leave the project for an unnamed Hollywood project, later the same role offered to the actor and singer newbie Shraddha Kapoor. Finally, the beautiful actress Lisa Haydon took over her character and has now started with the filming process.

Anushka Sharma’s role in ‘PK’ revealed

Bombay Velvet is an upcoming Hindi movie drama film directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap, based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables.  It is the story of the struggle and rise of an ordinary man named Johnny Balraj, played by Ranbir Kapoor and of how the city of dreams Mumbai becomes the backstage of emotions, love and greed for money, hatred, violence and jazz music. Karan Johar plays an antagonist. The “Rab ne Bana de Jodi” actress Anushka Sharma will be seen dazzling in 140 dresses designed by famous designer Niharika for her upcoming movie Bombay Velvet. The plot of the movie sounds very interesting and so does the 140 dresses designed for Anushka. It is reported that Anushka has been given a retro look and therefore the film makers have not left even one stone unturned to give Anushka the perfect retro look. Niharika is an award winning designer and she has also designed costumes for famous movies like “The Dirty Picture”. It is also reported that Niharika Khan has designed a good 35kgs dress for Anushka Sharma and the actress is spotted sporting that” O So Heavy Dress” in a scene where is in a club and behind the mic signing for her audience. The Actress confirmed that it took her hours to get dressed for that shot. The actress had a cupcake party with the entire cast and crew on the last day of the shooting. Film Khoobsurat has been produced by Sonam’s dad Anil Kapoor the legend of Bollywood

The cute and chirpy Kapoor girl Sonam Kapoor will be seen in her upcoming movie ‘Khubsoorat’ which is an official remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s movie of the same name which stared Rekha in the lead role. Now the challenge is for Sonam to justify the role played by the ever green Beauty Rekha. “We are taking the spirit of the character and giving it a modern setting. We are modernising it, we are taking the spirit and energy of the girl but we are not sticking to the same story line. We are making it more current and new,” Sonam Kapoor said. Though Sonam is nervous but we are sure she surely will bring out the chirpy character of Rekha in this movie.

Sonam Kapoor the biggest fashionista of Bollywood is now to be seen in her upcoming film Khoobsurat . Fawad Khan a well known celebrity from Pakistan who has now entered the Indian film industry in the role of Prince Vikram Singh Rathore will be sharing the screen space with the Kapoor girl. But even before the release, Pakistani actor Fawad has earned a huge name, fame and fan following, thanks to the show Zindagi Gulzar Hai on small screen, which was aired on Zindagi channel, a channel that’s a bridge between the two countries. When asked about his opinion on the criticism, he replied: “The people you are talking about are very few. There will be people who will criticize. They are entitled to their opinion. Even if someone from India goes to work there, someone or the other will make noise.” “Art is something that travels across all borders. Art knows no culture and creed. As an actor, I would like to explore myself. I do feel bad, but I choose to ignore criticism. I think to pay attention to it is unnecessary,” he added. Spoke like a wise! The film features Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Afzal Khan, Ratna Pathak , Kirron Kher, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Aamir Raza Hussain in lead roles.Fawad says, it’s an honour to collaborate with the Kapoors for his Bollywood acting debut.

Finding Fanny is in trouble again

After the elimination of the virgin dialogue from the film which stirred a controversy, Finding Fanny again has found itself in legal soup. In the Delhi High Court on Tuesday a petition was filed demanding a ban on the release the due to the use of ‘’fanny'” which is regarded vulgar. The PIL filed by NGO Jai Jagriti Foundation and Nandini Tiwari through their lawyer said that the word “fanny” was a slang and it should be discarded from the movie and the songs. According to Tiwari, who is a mother of a four-year-old, said such words in films and television will corrupt children’s minds.

Two years after the film that hit the box office Cocktail, director Homi Adajania is back with bang and a idiosyncratic misadventure; this time about a dappled crew looking for a postman’s lost love through Goa. The Hindi and English versions of Finding Fanny movie will hit the theatres on September 12, across India and in various 40 international territories, which form the exodus markets targeted by most main stream Bollywood films. The film makers believe that Homi Adajania, the director has made a outstanding global film that will be accepted in any market. “The difference between the two versions is just three-four minutes and not a complete re-edit. This English version will be cut by Nick Moore to cater to that audience,” Director Homi Adajania said in a statement.”It’s the same story but will be told in a way that the firangs understand better,” he added.

The English and Hindi versions of Finding Fanny will hit theatres Sep 12.
