‘Aaj Ke Naam’ is sung by Rekha Bhardwaj, which is not only beautifully rendered but also elegantly orchestrated. It is mostly languorous but is not something that will mark a history.
‘Gulon Mein Rang Bhare’ which is sung by none other than Arijit Singh who has lend his voice for many ovies like Singham retuens, creature 3D and hate story 2 making their songs a romance magic portion, yet in this he fails to make this song that great success like his previous. This song starts well but ends in a disappointing manner.
‘Do Jahaan’ which is sung by Suresh Wadkar-Shraddha Kapoor makes a mark. This song is soothing and pleases one’s mind and ears. Suresh Wadkar has effortlessly made this song a good number and also Shraddha Kapoor’s voice paired with the legendary singer complimented the song beautifully.
Once again ‘Kabhi To’ sung by Arjit Sing is a well composed track that is not too harsh not too soft to the listener’s ear. You can relax and listen to this number and enjoy it due to the singer’s listener-friendly voice.
Jhelum is self rendered composition of the director Vishal Bhardwaj. Vishal gets behind the studio and mike for this lovely number and his soothing soft vocals are perfectly and magically in tune with the melody that will embrace you giving a mystical yet real effect to the number.
‘Bismil‘ and its shorter version ‘Ek Aur Bismil’ follow the narrative format which was earlier seen in song classics which narrated complete stories. But due to its use of pure and heavy Urdu phonetics, it simply fails to communicate to the basic audience yet it feels good to the ears. The Punjabi pop singer Sukhwinder Singh puts some energy into this track by lending his voice. This song has an Arabic flavor to it.
Aaj Ke Naam song is the final track of this album and has Rekha Bhardwaj to deliver this ghazal-in her beautiful voice. The track has minimum instrumentation with just using a tabla and a violin in the background making Rekha’s voice dominate the entire track.
Haider is an upcoming Indian drama film written by Basharat Peer and Bhardwaj and directed by director Vishal Bhardwaj. The film casts Tabu ,Shraddha Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon and Shahid Kapoor. Haider is the third flim installment of Bhardwaj’s remake of Shakespeare trilogy after Maqbool ( 2003) and Omkara ( 2006). The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 2 October 2014. The movie has taken aback and impressed the audience with its ravishing trailer and Shahid Kapoor’s extra ordinary new look. This film offered everything bloody revenge, magical love to wild rebel. The buzz about Shahid and Shraddha’s sizzling hot lip lock scene is doing the rounds. Actress Tabu who will be seen after a long time from her previous film Chinikum will now play the character of a heavily strong headed and brave woman and as Shahid Kapoor’s step mother. A major part of the film was shooted in the province of Srinagar in Kashmir. Director Bhardwaj assured the J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah that the film would have nothing at all to harm or disturb the local sensibilities of the place and the political aspirations of the province.
