This month we saw a series of movies hitting the theaters, while some did hit and some dint. But now it’s time for the most awaited movies of this year- Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gabbar with Akshay, Ekta-Karan’s joint venture Raja Natwarlal with Emraan Khan, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Returns starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor and Mardani starring Rani Mukerjee, her house production- four big blockbuster films are all set to jostle for your money and attention on this Independence Day. This Independence Day is all set to witness one of the biggest and whooping box office clashes ever. Buzz is that Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerjee and Emraan Hashmi starrers are all releasing this month itself at the box office, setting the stage for an eccentric showdown.
The question is who will rock the box office? Is it Rani’s Mardani? Akshay’s Gabbar? Emraan’s Raja Natwarlal? or Ajay Devgn’s Singham Returns? All the four movies are completely different with their very own unique storyline and masaala which makes it even more difficult for the audience to decide. Let’s talk about some highlights of these movies. Rani Mukerjee’s Mardani is much awaited movie due to her unique never seen before look of a super cop. This movie has blood curdling and spine chilling dialogues, action, stunts and Rani in her fierce and heroic avatar. Something never expected from our sweet-homely Rani. Rani Mukerjee will be playing a cop dealing with human trafficking. This story is based on a real life police officer who has solved many human trafficking cases in the city. So this movie is all about women empowerment and of course Rani’s unique character.
When talking about Singham Returns the first thing that flashes into the head is Bhajirao Singham, the fearless and honest police officer. Singham Returns is a sequel to Singham released in 2011 by Rohit Shetty. It’s intense and yea it has cars being blown up. The end result is enthralling. On the other side, Kareena looks very green and adds the much needed fun and comic flavor to the intense drama.
Emraan Hashmi had been missing from the limelight since his disastrous ‘Ghanchakkar’, but the man is back with a bang again as Raja Natwarlal in this forthcoming film directed by Kunal Deshmukh who also directed the ‘Jannat’ series fame. This movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Humaima Malik, Deepak Tijori and Kay Kay Menon and is set to sail on August 29 release. Emraan plays the character of a conman in this film, which is into a con business of selling people fake cricket team. The movie promises to be a complete masala entertainer. Yet, we think nothing extra ordinary about this one.
Gabbar is an upcoming action and drama movie. The film features Akshay Kumar in the lead role with Nikitin Dheer, Prakash Raj, Govind Namdev and Sonu Sood. Shruti Haasan is in the lead female role.
All the above move have their own fun element and drama in stored but again the question is who will rule the box office? Here the highlight is on Mardani again due to Rani Mujerjee’s never seen before look and Singham Returns due to its past success of Singham. These two movies carry more chances of striking the box office this month.
